No, and I still don’t! I had to look the other way when I had my COVID vaccinations 🙂

I don’t mind needles, my daughter has type 1 diabetes and she needs to Inject insulin every time she eats something which isn’t nice. I guess if I was like that thought I’d get used to it

I didn’t think about it too much when I was younger. It wasn’t often I came into contact with needles, and any vaccinations were over so quickly. I regularly donate blood as an adult because I know it makes a big difference to other people and is a minor inconvenience for me.

Needles have never bothered me – I think my inquisitive mind has always made me interested in how they do the injections, what is inside the syringe etc…. I have always watched closely when having injecitons :-)!

I never watch when I get a vaccine, but I don’t mind them otherwise. I have friends who might pass out when they get a vaccine. One of them went to a psychologist to fix that, and now she’s never passed out from needles again.

Needles have never bothered me too much, but I do look away and I find taking deep breathes help keep me calm and take my mind off what is happening. When new medicines and vaccines are being designed we always prefer to design a drug that can been taken by mouth (as it is more convenient and as lots of people don’t like needles) but this is more difficult to do as it needs to pass through your digestive system unchanged first . . .so is not always possible.

I am not great with needles. I can get vaccinations OK but I find blood tests more difficult. Funnily I work with them a lot and have no trouble whatsoever!

I never minded needles, however I also don’t look when I am getting any sort of injections/vaccine. In my work, I have used needles to inject gas into bacterial cultures which was exciting but mostly because it was nowhere near my arm.

It’s not that I don’t like needles, but I’d rather not look when I get a vaccine or have a blood test

I’ve never liked needles – I always look away when I have vaccines, or need to give blood. It’s not a problem when I watch others though.

I didn’t particularly like getting vaccinations and injections as a child, but I wouldn’t say I disliked them any more than is “normal” in childhood. As a paediatrician, when I’m not doing my research job, I spend a lot of time using needles e.g. to take blood or put drips into babies and children, and actually with the right distraction and technique, it doesn’t have to be too traumatic for anyone involved!

No, I hate them! I give blood sometimes (so it doesn’t impact my life too much) but I ask them to please make sure I don’t see the needle and to not mention anything about it. It’s getting better though!

I never minded needles but I have worked as a nurse and I know a lot of people don’t like them.
