Atoms are the little bricks that form the matter. They are small units of chemical elements, and they interact with each other to form molecules. For example, even the oxygen that we breath is made of many atoms of oxygen (the chemical symbol is O) that interact in pairs and you would sometimes see it written as O2.

Atoms are the smallest unit of matter. It has the nucleus which houses the protons and neutrons and the outer layer which consists of electrons. Also every atom is a chemical element like hydrogen or chlorine.

Atoms are the building blocks to everything – kind of like lego!

Everything is made of atoms! They are the tiny pieces of matter, and they can bond with each other to form molecules. In the centre atoms have a nucleus which is usually surrounded electrons which are negatively charged, whereas the nucleus is made up of neutrons and protons and is positively charged.

Atoms are the smallest unit of matter! They’re made up of things called sub-atomic particles- that’s protons, neutrons and electrons. Different numbers of sub-atomic particles together make up atoms of different substances and charges. For example, a neutral (that’s uncharged) carbon atom has 6 protons, 6 neutrons and 6 electrons!
