  I did my undergraduate and master’s studies in Italy, where it’s 3 + 2 years, and then it took me 3 years to get my PhD.

  I did a 3 year undergraduate degree in Biology, and then a 1 year separate Master’s degree in Bioinformatics after a year gap so that I could specialise more, as biology is pretty generalised.

  My first course at University (Biomedical Science) was 3 years, and for my PhD – where you learn to be a scientist at work, like an apprenticeship – it’s 4 years (usually 3, but I had an introductory year).
