At school I was really interested in maths, with some history on the side. I therefore did my undergraduate in mathematics at Oxford, which I really enjoyed. I was particularly interested in modelling real world behaviour, and undertook projects modelling phenomena from lithium-ion batteries to genetic evolution.
I am now in my first year of a PhD which combines mathematics, biology, stats and computer science to investigate biological systems. It’s fascinating learning subjects I haven’t really studied before and seeing how they interlink.
